Gregory Brassil, Jewelry Designer and Platinumsmith
I grew up in Minneapolis, here in Linden Hills. My jewelry
career started in Iowa in 1978 when a friend showed me what
he knew, and I haven't looked back. Subsequently I trained
at the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts in San Francisco and
at the Gemological Institute of America. I lived and
worked in the jewelry trade for twelve years in California
before moving back to Minneapolis in 1992.
My greatest teacher has been and continues to be:
Experience! After 29 years I can easily say it is in the
doing wherein lies the true knowledge (and the confidence)
of custom design. I find jewelry design creatively
stimulating and satisfying. But it's my great, great
clients that make it so much fun.
Thank you all!
Gems and jewelry have a magical quality and I think we are
often drawn to wear something beautiful and magnificent
because it reminds us of our own magnificence. I approach
my work with that inspiration. I do get a lot of
satisfaction merging my own sense of beauty with my best
technical skills to create a piece of jewelry that
complements the unique needs and desires of each wearer. I
am always being inspired, and I am always learning.
"I don't like work, no man does, but I like what is in work
- the chance to find for yourself, not for others- what no
other man can ever know. -Joseph Conrad
Wishing you peace & prosperity,
